No one can work alone in modern organizations. Individual contributors and managers alike rely on collaboration, which hinges on effective communication. These issues cannot be fixed by communication skills alone. Beyond conscious dialogue lies hidden unconscious bias - the fundamental barrier to interpersonal communication and teamwork. When biased thinking takes over, people form preconceived notions, harbor negative emotions, make flawed judgments and hasty decisions, and even refuse to communicate, straining workplace relationships.
